BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE
As our various contracts near the end of their terms, we solicit new bids that will insure the same or better service at the best price available. Two such contracts that have been re-bid are those for the clubhouse cleaning and our insurance. Our new cleaning contractor is PBM, who will do a first cleaning on 5/15 and thereafter on Mondays. Their personnel will wear uniforms and badges which will make them easily identifiable. Our new insurance carrier is Community Associations Underwriters, Inc. Both of these contracts will have a positive budgetary impact which will be discussed at the June Board meeting.
As of the end of May, Naugatuck Construction, the previous cleaners, will no longer have the use of an access code at the gate. Residents who have individual cleaning services with them will have to furnish them with their own unit codes.
It was determined that some maintenance on the generators and pumps at the sewer pumping station and at the clubhouse was not included in the standing contracts. That has now been corrected and all maintenance is being conducted in a timely manner.
All 34 unit sidewalks that were in need of repair, either for grading or deteriorating pavers, have now been repaired.
Weather permitting, the Board will do their annual "walk about" during the week of 5/14 to determine landscaping, building, paving, etc. issues that need to be addressed.
